A fictional shop, two versions of a prototype and hundreds of sessions: all of DASHUND, without publishing anything. · 3 min read

Every DASHUND account has access to a demo: Verdel, a fictional plant shop. You’ll find it in the workspace menu, at the top of the sidebar, under the name “Verdel (demo)”. It’s read-only: you see everything without changing anything, and it doesn’t count toward your plan.

What’s inside

  • Two versions of the same prototype. V1 requires creating an account before paying and shows no customer reviews. V2 lets people buy without an account and shows the reviews.
  • Hundreds of simulated sessions over the last few weeks, coming from three links (newsletter, ad, test panel), regenerated every week.
  • Target paths (purchase, quiz), a comparison and an A/B test between the two versions.

What to look at

  1. In V1, the Dashboard and the Flow: a large share of visitors stop on the “Sign in required” screen.
  2. The heatmaps of a product page: where people click, and the photo thumbnails that don’t respond.
  3. Segments: visitors coming from the ad leave faster than those from the test panel.
  4. Compare and the A/B test: V2 converts clearly better.
